I Will Have Cake by Uncle Social

Our fifth release comes from an undiscovered Chicago-based artist who calls himself Uncle Social. We first heard “Just to Set the Scene” a year ago and were immediately taken by the homegrown samples and the aimless, hang out-in-your-basement-with-your-friends feel to the track, so we asked for more. What Uncle Social gave us was a dusted-off collection of no-frills, raw, genuine, music from the early part of this decade seemingly made for no reason other than to have made it. It’s a noisy, industrial, beaty workout interspersed with true sonic gems and samples that are just plain weird and infectious. We can’t think of a better way to close out the decade than with a shout out to its beginning.
